FAQs: The Process
The Process
How does the process work?
First, send photos of the work you'd like done with any details you would like me to know. For instance, preferences for style, fabric, or color. I will quote you labor costs, fabric yardage, and any other suggestions that may help improve the job.
You will have to obtain fabric, although I can share fabric resources and information on options. Once fabric is obtained, I come to you and cut the job on the pieces.
We sew it, bring it back and often install it.
Where can I find decorator fabrics?
There are many resources online and still a few fabric stores that sell decorator fabrics. I suggest online resources for a few reasons:
1. The choices and availability being much more online, than what is found in a brick and mortar store.
2. There's usually is more information, such as fiber content, weight, cleaning suggestions and wearability, provided online for the fabric in question.
3. You have the ability to narrow you search by price, fiber content, use, color, patterns and brands.
4. You can usually purchase a sample, so you don’t have to buy anything sight unseen.
For additional information, please see our resource page.
How long does the process usually take?
We have a turnaround time of 4-6weeks from the time I cut the job. Fabric needs to be purchased first. Picking fabric can take a while. I never rush this part of the process. As a client, you have to be satisfied with your fabric choice. Once that is achieved, we can actually move along to getting the job done.

Will the cushions be covered separately from the body of the slipcover?
Yes, we make a separate cover for each of the seat and back cushions. These will have a zipper, so they can be removed and cleaned. The body itself will also be removable for cleaning.
How can I be sure the slipcover will fit perfectly?
Custom slipcovers are made to fit your furniture precisely. I take detailed measurements and cut the fabric directly on-site to ensure a perfect fit. Additionally, I perform a final fitting to make any necessary adjustments.
Can you add design features like piping, pleats, or decorative buttons?
Yes, I can incorporate a variety of design details to personalize your slipcover. Whether you want piping for a tailored look, pleats for elegance, or buttons for charm, I’ll work with you to create the style you envision.
What happens if I want adjustments after the slipcover is finished?
If adjustments are needed, I am happy to work with you to make things right. There may be additional costs depending on the scope of the changes, but my goal is to ensure your satisfaction.
Can you repair or alter existing slipcovers?
Yes, I can repair or modify existing slipcovers if they are in good condition and the changes are feasible. This might include replacing zippers, adjusting fit, or adding details like piping. If extra fabric is available, pieces like the arm, or a cushion, could be replaced.
